Pine Manor College
Pine Manor College began in 1911 as a post-secondary division of the Dana Hall School for girls in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Two decades later, it was chartered as an independent junior college and, in 1959, was authorized to confer Associate degrees. Pine Manor College moved from the Dana Hall School campus to its own location in Brookline, Massachusetts in 1965. Bachelor's degrees were first awarded to women beginning in 1977. Later, men and women were admitted to the Masters in Fine Arts in Creative Writing program (2005), and by 2013 Pine Manor College was a fully co-educational institution.

Starting in 2011, the College experienced financial instability that threatened their accreditation. Pine Manor College reenvisioned its mission, changed leadership, and repurposed some of its 54-acre property for rental income. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated Pine Manor College's financial difficulties, and, in 2020, it entered into a merger agreement with Boston College. Pine Manor College celebrated its final commencement and closed in May 2022. Boston College's Pine Manor Institute for Success welcomed its inaugural class in the Fall semester of 2024.
