Peabody & Stearns Architectural Records

or
The Peabody & Stearns architectural drawings contain materials related to the architectural commissions undertaken by the Peabody & Stearns architectural firm, including commercial, residential, and ecclesiastical projects in New England and beyond. The collection comprises materials representing 575 commissions, from approximately 1837 to 1960, and includes the following formats: architectural plans, drawings, and blueprints. The collection contains a variety of material types, including linen, cloth paper, heavy paper, vellum, and tracing paper.

A portion of the collection has been digitized and made available online to meet the needs of remote researchers, and efforts to digitize architectural collections are iterative and ongoing. Critical funding to support long-term preservation of and enhanced public access to Boston Public Library collections, including this one, was provided by the Associates of the Boston Public Library.
