Rotogravure Collection

or
The Rotogravure Collection consists of clippings of rotogravure images published in New Bedford, Massachusetts newspapers, including the Standard, the Mercury, and the Standard-Times. Although some of the images are contemporaneous to their publication dates, most date to the turn of the 20th century and were published in nostalgia-type columns that appeared from the 1920s through the 1940s. The images mainly relate to New Bedford and the surrounding communities and include street scenes, buildings, events, individual and group portraits (generally of workers, members of social clubs, school groups, sports teams, etc.), ships, wharves, and so forth. They constitute a rich resource of subjects often not visually documented elsewhere.
