The collection comprises letters written to Isabel Carret from the 1840s through the 1870s, from relatives and friends. Also included are letters written by William L. G. Peirce to Isabel Carret in the 1850s prior to their marriage, and letters to and from William during his service in the Civil War. Other letters include letters from family to and from Cuba during business or pleasure trips, mostly during the winter of 1872/1873. Other items in the collection relate to Peirce family farm in Lincoln and include property deeds, bills for agricultural supplies and household expenses, ephemera, and miscellaneous items from the late 1700s to the 1980s.
