This collection was compiled by James Walker during his Coast Guard career, mostly as a civilian employee at the Coast Guard base in Woods Hole, Mass. Jim served as a docent at the Coast Guard Heritage Museum until shortly before his death in 2017. Jim was a lighthouse enthusiast and had a large collection of books, photos, and artifacts from lighthouses in southeast New England. Much of his collection was donated to the Coast Guard Heritage Museum by his wife (Sylvia Walker). There are hundreds of images and documents in the collection in the Coast Guard Heritage Museum archives and research library. Hopefully, more of this will be digitized in the future.
